Royal Carols: Together At Christmas
BBC Studio Events for ITV
Clear Cut Group were selected to provide post production for Royal Carols: Together at Christmas an event hosted by, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge at Westminster Abbey.
The entire programme was a rich, colourful and beautiful celebration that heralded Christmas whilst also harnessing the emotional challenge of current times. While the whole programme was a glorious festive spectacle, it is now probably best known for the emotional scene when the Duchess accompanied artist Tom Walker on the piano.
Online Editor and Colourist at the Clear Cut Group, Dom McMahon used the full range of tools including Baselight and Boris plugins to heighten the colour and depth of the images bringing a richness to the overall look. He elevated the candlelit setting to create a deep sense of empathy and nostalgia, by balancing the contrast and exposure between shots. Andy Sears, Senior Dubbing Mixer, led the audio team and created a delicate mix, using ProTools and a host of specialist plug-ins, to deliver a rich soundscape that reflected the grand location and transported the viewer within the walls of Westminster Abbey. The finished project was a poignant and beautiful festive celebration.
